Community Wellbeing Advocate

PO1 -Term Time + 2 weeks points 37-30 (£32,430 - £34,794 before pro-rata)

Star Primary School is a large three form entry school serving a diverse and multicultural community. We are looking for a passionate and highly skilled professional who can undertake a broad range of community/early help related duties within the school.

The core purpose of this role will be to support existing structures within the school to ensure that every child is accessing the best possible support to make them achieve their potential at school. You will work closely with a very strong and supportive team of leaders, including the Safeguarding Officer, Senco’s, DHT’s and HT.

Purpose of the job:

  • To lead the schools Early Help Programme, working closely with other Early Help professionals.
  • To help raise standards of achievement and attainment for all pupils, through a focus on excellent attendance, parent partnership and addressing factors which may affect an individual’s progress and well being
  • To work in partnership with the Safeguarding Officer, SENCO, the Local Authority AWA, the School Nurse, visiting advisory staff and specialist teachers/therapists
  • To work in partnership with parents to support their child’s learning, both as a point of contact for information/signposting, and through providing training, support and advice
  • The role has a significant safeguarding responsibility and you will share leadership of the school’s safeguarding professionals
  • To support the whole school community in achieving a good sense of wellbeing in support of our creative and holistic curriculum.

You will:

  • co-ordinate the school’s procedures and strategies for maintaining good attendance
