Best Start in Life Family Support Worker 

Required: As soon as possible

Pay: Scale 6

Contract type: Full-time (52 weeks) 

· Do you have experience of working with children 0 – 5 years?

· Do you have experience of supporting families to access services and improve the life chances for their families? 

We are looking to appoint an experienced Family Support Worker who will be responsible for supporting families in the East Ham area in accessing Newham’s Best Start in Life Guarantee: delivering programmes, workshops and sessions offering evidence based advice and guidance to improve parenting capacity.  The position will be based at the Altmore Children’s Centre site. 

The successful applicant will need to be flexible, have an enthusiastic approach and be able to work collaboratively and sensitively across our neighbourhood.  They will need to be professional at all times, with a particular awareness of confidentiality. 

Good communication skills, excellent record keeping and team work are essential. 

The settings in our neighbourhood are large and very enjoyable to work in.  We are very well resourced, in terms of: people, equipment, grounds and children!  CPD (continual professional development) is a high priority for all staff.  If you would like to become part our team and experience the rewards of working with young children and families in the community then please apply.
